Rail & Trail "Granitztal - Rustic mixed mountain forests and traditional orchards"
Finally, we hike along the rural valley floor of the Granitz Valley through Carinthia's traditional fruit chamber. Quiet farm roads meander between lush meadows, fertile fields and rural hamlets. Orchards that have become rare today, quaint fruit tree groves and well-tended orchards tell of centuries of fruit-growing tradition. Passing the rural village of St. Martin, the center of the valley, we return to the valley entrance in St. Paul im Lavanttal. Just take your time and enjoy the rural bliss!

Key points of the route
St. Paul i.L. train station is remotely located in the Lavanttal valley, but offers a very good bus connection from the S-Bahn to the town, the starting point of the tour. We recommend that leisure hikers make use of this. For passionate train hikers there is the following foot connection: See here.
The tour starts in the center of St. Paul im Lavanttal at Lobisserplatz (bus stop "St. Paul im Lavanttal Ortsmitte"). It first leads over the northern forest ridge of the Granitztal, then through the valley floor of the hidden valley back to the starting point.
