Circular bike route through rather unknown spots of the Miesbach uplands - between Leitzach and Auerberg to churches and chapels.
The Kircherl Tour is a classic circular bike route with a large cultural offer - many farm chapels and small churches lie on the way, each worth a short stop or a visit. Those who prefer it sporty ride the Kircherl Tour as a round with road bike or gravel bike and enjoy views and climbs on small, fine paved roads in the Miesbach uplands.

We start from the center of Miesbach and pass the first signpost of the route on Rosenheimer Straße - straight ahead we leave the town heading east towards Parsberg. Arriving in Parsberg, we keep right, pass the church, and gain the first elevation meters on the way over Elm and Litzelau. Following an exposed ridge, after a descent we reach Wörnsmühl in the Leitzach valley. We cross the state road and begin the ascent into the village of Sonnenreuth. In Sonnenreuth, we turn sharply right directly in the village and join the Bodensee-Königsee cycle path running here as well. Through meadows and fields, our route leads with changing views of the nearby Mangfall mountains up to just before the village of Hundham. We turn left and follow the state road towards Bad Feilnbach but leave it again soon before the Deisenried hiking car park.
From now on, the small, paved roads of the Auerberg shape our route - a real pleasure also for road bike enthusiasts. Below the mountain inn Hocheck, we pass the legendary Schnitzenbaumer chapel and reach just before the village of Holz the westernmost point of our route. Our route then leads us west back to the hamlet of Effenstätt, where we turn right again towards Westner. Again we enjoy small and little frequented paved paths amid gentle hills and small farms. We leave the Auerberg shortly after Westner - as soon as we meet the route of the Bodensee-Königsee cycle path again - heading north to the tranquil Niklasreuth. Further westwards it goes towards the state road towards Irschenberg, which we follow for a stretch to Ahrain. In Ahrain we turn left and descend again into the Leitzach valley; from here begins a climb on a forest and gravel path, only partially suitable for very thin road bike tires. After a few hundred meters, however, this passage is overcome and the church village Frauenried is reached. Passing the pilgrimage church, the route leads back on good asphalt to the B472. We cross this on the cycle path and ride back on it to nearby Miesbach, where our route ends.
