The trail has borne its name since the 2003 Winter Triathlon World Championship, where part of the cross-country skiing route was used as the third discipline on this loop.

Opposite the entrance to the Kalzhofer trail begins the WM trail. The short loop passes the Hotel evviva through hilly terrain to the road junction in Wengen and returns towards Kalzhofen to the starting point. At the same time, the WM trail connects to the Kalzhofer trail. Halfway along the loop, a connection branches off through the Wengen valley and leads to the Hündle trail. A short but ideal training trail for ambitious runners.
