A beautiful panoramic route connects the village of Jarabá with Čertovica. It has an exclusively downhill character, so its difficulty depends on the direction of travel. It is ideal for an afternoon descent with a magnificent view. However, it will also definitely please athletes who enjoy gaining elevation meters.
The Jarabá cross-country skiing route ranks among the more demanding by its profile. The starting point upwards is the village of Jarabá, near the source of the ferruginous water Bachláč, or the tourist-frequented Jarabatá Hut with Čiko. It is part of the Great Blueberry Circuit around Beňuška. Over 7 km of continuous 6.2% ascent you gain an impressive 444 meters of altitude.
The entire route is carved into the northern slopes of Čučoriedková and Beňuška, so you can expect sunlight only at higher altitudes or in the afternoon hours. However, you will certainly not feel cold during the ascent with beautiful views of the mighty slopes of Malý Gápel, Lajštroch, or Kumštová Valley.
Near the end of the route under the Saddle behind Lenivá, the highest peak of the Low Tatras - Ďumbier - will appear as a reward. The route is connected by a short 2 km descent to the north with Čertovica, which is really just a hop away. Or to the south with a pleasant hobby route below the ridge of Lenivá and Beňuška to the Líška shelter.
If you want to take the route in the opposite direction (from the Saddle behind Lenivá to Jarabá), prepare for a long, at least half-hour descent, which is really worth it thanks to the mentioned views. In this direction, the route is easy. However, watch out for high speed that you can reach even on a relatively gentle slope.

Safety information
During the descent into the valley, it is necessary to increase caution, preferably by reducing speed, which can prevent injuries. Especially dangerous can be the spring conditions on the trail, when slushy or frozen snow can cause problems both on the track and on the corduroy.

Roadbook
From the starting point at the Jarabá - Kyslá signpost, you follow a forest road that turns in the opposite direction after a few hundred meters and after about 2 kilometers leads you to a crossroads of forest roads at the Airport. From there, follow the arrow to turn left and you will gently climb for 5 km along a winding but wide forest road to the main ridge of the Low Tatras - to the Saddle behind Lenivá.

- the parking capacity will be divided 50% for Ski Čertovica customers and 50% for cross-country skiers
- Ski Čertovica customers who purchase at least a 2-hour ski pass on the day will park for free
- short-term stop up to 30 min - free, the paid 10,- € will be refunded if leaving the parking lot within 30 min
- parking operating hours are from 8:00 to 18:00
- after 18:00 daily maintenance of the area will be carried out. The parking lot must be empty, otherwise your vehicle may be damaged
