From the source, we follow the river course through the picturesque Maurener valley to Ehningen. On the way further via Aidlingen and Grafenau to Weil der Stadt, you can enjoy orchards, structurally rich hedgerows, wetlands and fairy-tale-like juniper heaths. The historic old town invites you to take a break in Weil der Stadt. Then it continues via Merklingen and Hausen, partly along the water, partly on the heights above the river course heading north. Behind Tiefenbronn we enter the Unteres Würmtal nature reserve, where the Würm cuts deeply into the Buntsandstein and the forests become denser. We have arrived in the Northern Black Forest and can experience an unusual, indeed mystical atmosphere: a sea of stones, so-called blockfields, which are formed due to strong weathering. Through the shady forest, we follow the river course to the small village of Würm and further to the Golden City of Pforzheim.
