LOOK&BOOK - Ruppiner Seenland
The route runs through the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park. The forest- and lake-rich nature, home to rare flora and fauna, should be protected. The towns Rheinsberg, Zechow, Köpernitz, Dollgow, Zernikow, Menz, Neuglobsow, Feldgrieben and Paulshorst lie on the route. We experience the Rhin lowlands, the Köpernitz manor house, the Köpernitz mill, many forest lakes on both sides of the path, the Strittmatter commemorative site in Dollgow, the Zernikow estate, the Stechlin Nature Park House, the Glass Museum Neuglobsow, the Stechlin lake, and the Wittwesee.
The writers’ route follows the traces of Theodor Fontane described in his "Walks through the Mark Brandenburg - The Menzer Forest and the Great Stechlin".
We visit the workplace and cemetery of the writer couple Strittmatter, the Zernikow estate - the workplace of the poets Achim von Arnim and Bettina von Arnim, and the Kurt Tucholsky Museum.
At km 43, you ride north past the former Rheinsberg nuclear power plant.
Author’s recommendation
At km 16, it is recommended to visit the grave of the Strittmatter couple in Schulzenhof, then we return to Dollgow. Here in the village center, there are steles with facts about the Strittmatters. Before continuing, you can rest at Seeligs Guest and Lodging House; the lake meadow behind the barn is recommended, offering an incredible view of Dollgower Lake.
I recommend resting at the Fischer am Stechlin (km 36).
If you want to visit all the POIs on the route or for less experienced cyclists, I recommend completing the tour in two day stages. There are plenty of places to eat and/or stay along the route.

Although today's technology (GPS, etc.) gives us a sense of security, I always recommend carrying a good map.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
The circular route can be ridden in both directions. It runs on passable forestry roads, old cobblestone streets, concrete slab roads, paved state roads, and paved cycle paths.
Here I briefly describe the south-north-west round.
From Rheinsberg station, head briefly north, cross the Rhin behind the Lidl over the cobblestone street, then along the Lindenallee to Zechow. From Zechow to the B122, follow it ca. 800 m to Köpernitz; in Köpernitz, keep left – here is the Köpernitz manor house with Feng Shui park, exhibitions, and events. From Köpernitz, we go to the Köpernitz mill and further to the Dollgow junction (here you can make a short detour to the Strittmatter grave in Schulzenhof). Through Dollgow (Strittmatter steles) it continues to Zernikow (Zernikow estate, church, and family grave, guided tours possible), then to Menz, where a visit to the Stechlin Nature Park House is recommended. Continue towards Neuglobsow, where you can visit the Glass Museum and rest at the Fontane House or at the Fischer am Stechlin. Now around the northern Stechlin, continue to Feldgrieben around the north and west parts of the Wittwesee to Paulshorst. From Paulshorst to Rheinsberg to Rheinsberg Castle with the Tucholsky Museum and back to Rheinsberg station. In Rheinsberg, you will find further POIs, such as Rheinsberg Castle and many more places to eat.
