On the trail of the Slavs: the circular route takes you from Bützow to the site of the former Slavic castle, where today a six-ton granite boulder commemorates the history.
Surrounded by meadows and forests, crossed by the winding Warnow and nestled in gentle hill chains, lies the small town of Bützow. Here your circular route begins, which leads you over Wolken and Kassow to Werle Castle. Since 1856, a granite boulder has commemorated the former Slavic castle of the princes of the Obotrite tribe. Not far from the Warnow, it offers an opportunity to take a rest.
Via Kambs and Passin, you finally follow the long-distance Berlin-Copenhagen cycle route back to Bützow.
Author’s recommendation
Arriving at the granite boulder of Werle Castle, a rest is worthwhile. The Warnow riverbank jetty invites you to linger.
