The fully signposted route can be divided into two independent stages: leaving from Celldömölk railway station towards Kis-Somlyó Hill, and the section leading towards Ostffyasszonyfa. It is fully signposted on the return trip as well, so you can join at any point.
Heading towards Kis-Somlyó Hill, the first sight is a 12th-century Benedictine abbey ruin, then the Ság Hill appears before your eyes. In Mesteri, you pass the Árpád-era Saint Michael Church, then on the left the spa appears (you can stop for a swim, it is small but very well-kept and clean, with excellent medicinal water, lots of shade trees, and food is available). In Egyházashetye, turning left you find the Berzsenyi Memorial Museum (the Baroque poet's birthplace can be visited by appointment: Tel.: +36 95 472 004), heading right the Kis-Somlyó Hill soon appears, Borgáta Thermal Spa approaches (from spring to autumn you can refresh here too, thermal and cold pools, jacuzzi, many flowers on the beautifully landscaped beach, a truly peaceful rural environment).
Crossing the hill (more of a small hill, no need to be afraid, but imagine a beautiful, tidy vineyard with grazing horses and sheep), you can rest and admire the view at Királykő. The next place worth stopping at is the Izsákfa park forest (educational trail, forest playground, rest house, fire pits). Arriving in Celldömölk, the route leads by Ság Hill to the Kemenes Volcano Park (a unique volcanological collection in Hungary, great fun for children and adults alike). Leaving the Alsóság district, on the left is the Volcano Spa and Experience Bath (larger than at Mesteri and Borgáta, a spa resort with beautiful views of Ság Hill), a fishing lake, then you return to the railway station.
Following signs through Ostffyasszonyfa, passing Kemenesszentmárton, Mersevát, Kemenessömjén, and Kemenesmihályfa, you arrive. In the village center, on the castle hill, you can see Ostffy Castle (now serving as the mayor's office). The neighboring cultural house hosts the Petőfi memorial room and an exhibition about the history of the WWI POW camp (visitable by appointment: Tel.: +36 95/394 001 +36 95/394 198), at March 15 Square rises a war memorial. Csönge’s pride is the Weöres Sándor and Károlyi Amy Memorial House (beautifully renovated exhibition space and lovely rest park, visit by appointment: Tel.: +36 20 800 6727 or +36 70 682 9545). You pass the evangelical church preserving Petőfi’s handprint and the legendary Tessedik locust tree (one of the first acacia trees in Hungary). On returning to Ostffyasszonyfa, your route passes the Salkovics House (where young Petőfi Sándor lived), then after the village you find one of the largest former Austro-Hungarian POW cemeteries (visitable by appointment: Tel.: +36 95/394 001 +36 95/394 198), and one of the modern era’s interesting monumental objects, the Pannónia Ring (if lucky, you can hear the motor sounds, visible from the road). You return to Celldömölk through Kemenesmihályfa. (At Mihályfa, you can roll for quite a long time, viewing beautiful mansions on the right).

Roadbook
Celldömölk-Mesteri:
From the roundabout, take the 2nd exit, then immediately turn right onto Koptik Odó Street. The road continues alongside the market. Heading right, you will pass the former city park next to a Székely gate, then at the end of the road, you will reach one of Celldömölk’s most important and oldest sights, the ruins of the Benedictine abbey. Turning left, continue on the gravel surface in Pórdömölki Street, from where turning right, the Ság Hill comes into view. Reaching the foot of the hill, the Sághegyalja Circuit joins from the left into Kolozsvár Road. You continue right towards Mesteri. At the "STOP" sign intersection, turn left and continue towards Gérce.
Mesteri-Kemeneskápolna:
Turning left, you will soon arrive in Mesteri. At the beginning of the village, you can see on the right the 13th-century church dedicated to Archangel Michael. You cross the village by a large right turn followed by a similarly large left turn, where you get a view of the spa. Continuing, you reach a "T" intersection, turn left.
Kemeneskápolna-Köcsk:
Entering Kemeneskápolna, after a right turn, you arrive at an island-like intersection with a stone cross in the middle, where you don't need to turn off, just continue straight.
Köcsk-Egyházashetye:
After a few kilometers, you reach Köcsk village, which you cross with a large elongated "S" curve. A very beautiful road section follows.
Egyházashetye-Borgáta:
Crossing the Kodó stream, entering the village, on the left is the Berzsenyi Memorial Museum; if you decide to skip it, turn right and proceed along Petőfi Street until you reach the intersection with Kossuth Street. Here turn right towards Borgáta. Leaving the village, the Kis-Somlyó Hill immediately appears on the left.
Borgáta-Egyházashetye:
Then you reach the area of Borgáta spa and continue cycling to Borgáta village. Signs lead to sights such as Királykő. (WARNING! After the Borgáta cross, there is a "Y" junction where you must keep right; no sign is present here.) Descending on the other side of the hill, you return to the Borgáta-Egyházashetye road. At the end of the gravel road moving away from the hill, turn right towards Egyházashetye.
Egyházashetye-Nemeskocs:
Entering the village, continue along Kossuth Street through the village, then continue on Béke Street until the intersection pointing towards "Csögle." Turning right, you leave the village and head towards Nemeskocs. (WARNING! You have to cross the busy road connecting Celldömölk and Jánosháza, where the route continues straight towards Boba.) In the middle of Boba, at the junction of Berzsenyi and Rákóczi Streets, continue your route turning left.
Nemeskocs-Izsákfa:
In Nemeskocs, go straight, then at the end of the village take a sharp left turn, again facing Ság Hill. There will be a right angle right turn, then a similarly right angle left turn. This way you exit onto the busy road connecting Celldömölk and Jánosháza at another point.
Izsákfa-Alsóság:
You enter Celldömölk-Izsákfa. Crossing the village, there is a straight section where you pass along the Izsákfa park forest. The designated route runs on the highway, but you can also cycle alongside it through the forest.
Alsóság-Celldömölk:
Upon entering Alsóság, at the first intersection sign, turn towards Vásárosmiske, but you do not go all the way there, soon finding the turning option right at a larger left curve. From here, it is already the Sághegyalja Circuit. When you get very close to the hill, continue to the right. You will soon reach Lázár Jenő Road, leading up to Ság Hill. On the other side stands the somewhat surreal reinforced concrete cube-shaped Kemenes Volcano Park building constructed a few years ago. Here, you can ascend the Ság Hill to admire the Trianon Cross and visit the Ság Hill Museum. (WARNING! The road leading up the hill is very steep, difficult going up, and requires great caution going down. The section locally called the "glide" road is recommended to push the bike rather than ride.) Descending from the hill, turn right at the corner of the visitor center’s plot and continue on Hegyi Street. Crossing an unused industrial track, you arrive in Alsóság, where after the grocery store, turn left onto Bem József Street. Proceed until the road would continue as a dirt road, but you turn right in a right angle into Mátyás király Street. At the end of the street, at the intersection, turn left towards Celldömölk town center.
Celldömölk:
Leaving Alsóság, you can soon proceed on a built bicycle path. (Unfortunately quite bumpy, but it’s ours.) On the left, you can see the Volcano Spa. Continuing on Sági Road, you first pass the Celldömölk fishing lake, then after the railway crossing, you arrive at the town center. At the roundabout at the intersection of Széchenyi and Kossuth Lajos Streets, go straight to return to the starting point, the railway station, via Kossuth Lajos Street.
End of the first section of the route. After resting, you may continue with the second stage.
Celldömölk-Kemenesszentmárton:
Standing opposite the station, set out along Wesselényi Street to the 834 Pápai Road, where turn right, passing under the railway overpass. (A separate tunnel is available for cyclists under the overpass.) After the green directional sign pointing left to "Vönöck" and "Beled," turn left toward Vönöck, continuing your way until Kemenesszentmárton.
Kemenesszentmárton-Mersevát:
Pass through the village simply; shortly after the village end, there is a turn right towards Mersevát.
Mersevát-Kemenessömjén:
Entering the village, follow Hargita Street to the right turn and continue following the road’s curve right. You reach Dózsa György Street at the mayor’s office. Before the tire service, turn left onto Rákóczi Street. Follow this street to Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Endre Street, where turn right at the intersection. Soon you leave the village. You go back the same way you came. At the junction near Kemenesszentmárton, turn right towards "Beled." Continue to Vönöck but turn left before the village.
Kemenessömjén-Kemenesmihályfa:
In the village, proceed along Berzsenyi Street; after some time, you reach Kemenesmihályfa, as the two villages merge.
Kemenesmihályfa-Ostffyasszonyfa:
In Kemenesmihályfa, first proceed along Hunyadi and then Bercsényi Streets.
Ostffyasszonyfa-Csönge:
Entering Ostffyasszonyfa, proceed on Kemenes Street to the intersection with Kossuth Lajos Street. Turning right, you enter the village center, the castle hill. Here you can see Ostffy Castle, and at March 15 Square, the war memorial. Continue on Kossuth Lajos Street turning right before the memorial, heading towards Csönge.
Csönge-Ostffyasszonyfa:
Not to be missed in the village is the Weöres Sándor and his wife Károlyi Amy memorial house, which you can find by turning left onto Rába Street after the post office from Dózsa György Street. From Rába Street, Zrínyi M. Street opens to the left, at the end of which is the Weöres Sándor memorial house. From here, a U-turn sign leads back to Dózsa György Street, where you continue again towards Ostffyasszonyfa. You also pass the evangelical church preserving the handprint of Petőfi and the legendary Tessedik locust tree (one of the first locust trees in Hungary).
Ostffyasszonyfa-Kemenesmihályfa:
Returning to Ostffyasszonyfa, proceed along Kossuth L. Street until the war memorial. At March 15 Square, turn right to leave Kossuth Street, climbing between the two churches. Then turn left onto Ady Endre Street to Táncsics Mihály Street. Turning right off Ady, cycle along Táncsics M. Street which leads into Petőfi Sándor Street. Turn left, where on the right side of the last house a small plaque commemorates Petőfi Sándor’s residence here. Turning left from Petőfi Street leads to Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Endre Street. Returning to the center, a beautiful castle awaits on the left. Turning right onto Kossuth Lajos Street, head to the nearby sights. Leaving the village on Kossuth Lajos Street, proceed towards Sárvár. After the Pannónia Ring, the turn curves right. Here is the former prisoner of war camp cemetery. A U-turn sign guides you, and at the end of the gravel road, turn left onto the road linking Ostffyasszonyfa and the Sárvár bypass, then near the pharmacy, turn from Kossuth Street towards Celldömölk and cycle back to Kemenesmihályfa. As a reward for your entire route, you can almost roll into Celldömölk.
Kemenesmihályfa-Celldömölk:
At the church in Kemenesmihályfa, turn right from Hunyadi Street onto Arany János Street, then at the first intersection, turn left to return to Celldömölk.
Celldömölk:
In town, proceed along Nemesdömölk Street to the Evangelical Church, where turn left onto the 834 Pápai Road (still called Baross Street here). Continue almost to the railway overpass, but just before it, turn right onto Wesselényi Street, where you will soon reach the railway station, marking the end of the route.
