Beyond the village of Bretka, it is worth detouring from the route on a spacious meadow, crossing a metal bridge, and heading against the river's current. The path will lead us to the nearby passable Peško cave in the rock above the river.
Before the village of Meliata, you will find on the right side the remains of a water mill and nearby, hidden in trees, the geological site Meliata profile.
Roadbook
The route follows cycle path no. 5703. We start in the village of Licince, where we turn left from the state road towards Tornaľa and after a while arrive at the beautiful meanders of Muránka and the old mill in the village of Meliata.
Through fields, forests, and meadows, we continue to the village of Bretka, where we pass the prominent ruins of a church bombed during World War II. Then the aforementioned beauty begins. We continue to the educational trail Muráň Gorge and let ourselves be carried away by the peaceful atmosphere against the current of Muránka. Part of the route is done on foot and at times we stop completely to fully enjoy this beauty.
