Früchtetrauf
From the 'Stäble', the traditional cultivation area around Neustetten-Remmingsheim, the Vesper Route runs mostly away from public traffic past grain fields and through idyllic river valleys.
The Vesper-Route on the theme "regional enjoyment" leads past local grain fields, water sources, producers, processors, small museums, and Tante Emma shops. Thus, when cycling, you can learn where the ingredients for producing the high-quality local bread and beer come from, which cyclists can then enjoy directly in the inns, cafés, brewery restaurants, bakeries, farm, and mill shops along the route. But the route is especially characterized by the Neckar and its side valleys. From Neustetten, it first goes through the wild romantic Rommelstal into the Neckar valley and over the Starzeltal to Hirrlingen. Over fields and past horse farms and Weiler Castle, cyclists reach the idyllic Katzenbachtal back into the Neckar valley and the bishop's town of Rottenburg, which offers numerous rest and refreshment options. Through the Weggental, where wine growing in the Upper Neckar has its origin, the route leads back to the starting point in Remmingsheim.

Roadbook
Start: Kronenbrauerei Schimpf, Hauptstrasse 1, Neustetten-Remmingsheim
Km 0 – 13: Remmingsheim – Obernau
The route starts in Remmingsheim behind the town hall at the fire station, only 300 m away from Kronenbrauerei Schimpf. Nearby are also the Colonial Goods Museum and the Maier pig and poultry farm. At the town hall, follow the bicycle traffic signs on Gartenstraße westward towards Wolfenhausen. Just before leaving Remmingsheim, you pass the Heimatmuseum Neustetten. After leaving the village, follow the roadside agricultural path towards Wolfenhausen. Here, the Mostbesen at butcher Hermann on Holzstraße (second right after the town hall) welcomes a visit. After leaving Wolfenhausen, the route turns left towards Rommelstal. The pleasant ride through the wild romantic, wooded valley is a very special natural experience. Passing two barbecue areas, you reach the Roman aqueduct at Km 12.
Km 13 – 23: Obernau – Hirrlingen
In Obernau, the route leads past the Tante Emma Shop Museum and the church to the main street. Now follow the Neckar Valley cycle path towards Horb. In the Neckar Valley between Rottenburg and Horb lie the springs of the Obernauer Löwen-Sprudel. The natural mineral water springs at over 60 meters underground and is very rich in calcium and magnesium. The mineral healing springs have been family-owned since 1895. In Bieringen, you can stock up on your own products at the self-service box at Maierhof-Truffner before following the Starzeltal towards Hirrlingen. At the quarry in Bietenhausen, turn left and follow the cycle and footpath to Hirrlingen.
Km 23 – 33: Hirrlingen – Bad Niedernau
Upon arrival in Hirrlingen, a visit to the town hall, housed in a well-preserved Renaissance castle, is worthwhile. Right next door is the Leins bakery, a member of the regional partner project TüKORN. The route continues through Hemmendorf and over a hill across open fields to Weiler. Tip: At the entrance to Weiler, a detour to Weilerburg is recommended. From today's observation tower, built on the site of the old castle ruin, you have a wonderful view over the Neckar Valley and the Swabian Alb up to the Black Forest. A flag flying on the tower indicates whether the tower and the gastronomy are open. At the entrance to Weiler, follow Hohenzollernweg to the left over the country road, then downhill follow the gravel agricultural path through the Katzenbachtal to the Roman spring. The spring lies at the end of the spa park in Bad Niedernau and was already known as a healing spring during Roman times. While digging for mineral water in 1836, the Apollo relief was discovered, which can still be viewed in the spring house today. There is also the possibility to refresh yourself free of charge with healing water. The Bad Niedernau healing water is very digestible due to its carbon dioxide content and has a pleasantly fresh taste. After the Roman spring, follow the asphalted road into town.
Km 33 – 42: Bad Niedernau – Remmingsheim
Turn right onto the main road, then follow it out of town and turn left at the town exit (motorhome parking area) over the Neckar bridge into Bahnallee. Turn right at the former station building. On the Neckar Valley cycle path, pass Bronnmühle, the first vineyards in the Neckar Valley, and the outdoor pool into the center of Rottenburg am Neckar. A detour towards the station is worthwhile because the Hirsch inn and the Kaffeehaus Prinz Carl warmly welcome cyclists there. In Rottenburg am Neckar, the route leads straight through the pedestrian zone, past the WTG Tourist Information, and left past the cathedral to the roundabout, where a refreshment is offered at Yo! Yogurteria. Take the fourth exit (left) towards Weggental. Follow Weggentalstraße to the pilgrimage church Weggental. The baroque pilgrimage church lies idyllically between orchards, vineyards, and lovingly maintained gardens in Weggental. Continue straight to the three-way intersection shortly after the stone cross, then uphill following the path towards Remmingsheim, the starting point of the route.
