The route starts at Orsières station and sets off towards Somlaproz via Route de Ferret, which you follow throughout your progress in Val Ferret. The ascent is only gently sloping and allows you to pedal at a good pace across the meadows while admiring the many peaks surrounding the valley connecting Switzerland to Italy. Mont Dolent and the Aiguille d'Argentière are among the most remarkable nearby. On the way up towards the hamlet of Ferret, you will also pass typical villages such as Praz-de-Fort and La Fouly. This preserved and relatively unknown valley is worth discovering by bike, as it offers a reasonable ascent difficulty along with safe roads with little traffic.
