We start at Timmendorfer Strand and cycle towards the Kurpark. Those who want to observe the ducks living at the pond one more time will find the chance here. The path leads through the fields from Klein Timmendorf to Groß Timmendorf towards Hemmelsdorf. In this small enchanted village, a narrow path leads us down to Hemmelsdorfer See. You have to walk your bike on the jetty, but the view from the old fisherman's house is definitely worth it! A wonderful photo motif can be found on the intricately designed circular jetty. Not only is the area around Hemmelsdorfer See mostly a nature reserve and thus home to many different bird species, but the lake also contains the deepest point in Germany! Refreshed with new energy, we cycle towards the Aalbek lowlands and walk as the hidden paths give a better insight into the landscape. We now reach the Hermann-Löns-Turm, from which we have a wide view at a height of 12 meters. After a short detour to the fishing village of Niendorf, we cycle back to Timmendorfer Strand.

    Author’s recommendation

You can cycle or hike the route starting from any point you choose.

It’s great to take a break on the benches in front of the Ahoi Coffee Roastery at the Niendorf harbor.

Those who make a detour to the pier in Niendorf will also discover another photo opportunity.
