Take 5

The “Take 5” route is named after the four official districts of Fürstenau – Fürstenau, Hollenstede, Schwagstorf, Settrup – and the fifth unofficial district Höne, through whose idyllic village centers with their five church towers you cycle on this route. This easy route lets the cyclist relax and enjoy the beautiful, natural forest and meadow landscape. You start the circular route in Fürstenau. Here, admire the distinctive cityscape of the old Hanseatic town and discover the historic castle with the castle island. The next section of the route towards Schwagstorf offers plenty of variety. You pass through the idyllic landscape past the Bojemühle and the mill pond. Nicely located benches inviting to a break with a picturesque view further await you. You follow the signposting and pass the Catholic church “St. Bartholomäus” and the Marienstift Schwagstorf. The route now leads to Hollenstede (www.hollenstede.de) with the Catholic church “Maria Rosenkranz” and finally to Settrup, where the listed Homeland House (www.settrup.de) is located. You continue your ride on a scenic route towards Höne and in doing so also brush past the neighboring Emsland towards “Drei Länder Eck” before you reach the castle and Hanseatic town Fürstenau again (www.fuerstenau.de).
