    Safety information

    Adjust your speed!
Always ride defensively and only go fast enough to stop in time for obstacles or to avoid oncoming traffic. Stay alert at all times. It’s cool to ride slowly past pedestrians and hikers.

    Assess your abilities correctly!
Don’t push yourself or your companions too hard. Make sure to leave some room in your plans.

    Roadbook

Starting at Lake St. Andrä, head east toward Mühldorf. Continue on to the Lindhof-Maria Rojach settlement and then to the village of Gemmersdorf. In St. Ulrich-Eitweg, turn left at the sports complex toward Mosern. The next town is Jakling, and from there it’s not far to the Dachberg Riding Stables. After a break and, if desired, a tour (by appointment), the route heads back to Lake St. Andrä.

    Equipment

If you’ve got a brain, protect it!
Wearing a helmet is a given when mountain biking.

    Wear the right clothes!
Even in summer—but especially during the early and late seasons—be sure to bring warm clothing and a spare jersey. At higher elevations, bad weather can make for an uncomfortable ride without rain gear.

    Carry emergency gear!
First-aid kit, bike repair kit (spare tube, pump, tools), map, cell phone, and possibly a GPS should always be with you (Note: Cell service isn’t guaranteed everywhere in the mountains).

Stay hydrated and eat on time!
Drink plenty of fluids and plan your breaks in advance. Getting hungry in the middle of nowhere is tough
