The latter probably sets off from Aichach towards the water castle in Unterwittelsbach, which belonged to Sisi's father and where the little Bavarian duchess probably spent quiet summer days. Nearby: Oberwittelsbach – the origin of the Bavarian ruling dynasty of the Wittelsbachs. A penitential church on the remains of the ancestral castle destroyed in 1208 (due to a king's murder) and a national monument (a neo-Gothic column erected from 1832 to 1834 as a tribute to the House of Wittelsbach) can be seen. From here, it goes to two more castles that also belonged to Sisi's father: the small hunting lodge Rapperzell and the castle in Kühbach with its own beer brand and popular beer garden (and a "Sisi spritzer" is also served here).
