Rehlingen-Siersburg, the starting point of the route, is located at the confluence of the Nied into the Saar. From the tower of the Siersburg, you can overlook the Saar and the Nied valley as well as the cultural landscape of the Saar-Niedgau. The route leads through the Haustadter Tal past places that have largely preserved their rural structure and building fabric. Chapels such as the Luziakapelle in Erbringen or the Wendalinuskapelle in Reimsbach adorn the edge of the bike path. After passing through a small forest, you reach Nunkirchen. The origins of the place date back to Celtic times. The center of the village is the mighty, three-nave parish church “Herz-Jesu”, built in the neo-Gothic style. Another sight is the Baroque castle Münchweiler with its extensive castle grounds. After a few kilometers, the most scenic part of the bike path begins near Scheuern. A short detour leads up to Schaumberg (571m), from whose 35-meter-high observation tower you have a magnificent view of the surroundings. Below the mountain, the adventure park with a barefoot path and sound plays offers a short break. The Johann-Adams-Mühle near Theley and the early Gothic abbey church in Tholey, whose origins date back to the 7th century, are worth a visit. You can then stop at the Hofgut Imsbach, which exudes idyllic tranquility with its pond system. Past the Nahe spring near Selbach, the bike path leads to the Bostalsee. With 120 hectares of water surface, it is the largest lake in southwestern Germany and offers guests many recreational and leisure activities around water sports.
