Rühn monastery

The bike route from Bützow through the Warnow valley takes you along green forests and expansive fields back to the picturesque small town. Along developed cycle paths, forest trails, and paved roads, you first cycle to Klein Raden, where you touch the Warnow breakthrough valley. Enjoy the primeval, romantic nature of the nature reserve here before continuing the route towards Eickhof. From Laase, you travel on the Hamburg-Rügen cycle path and are now back on the way towards Bützow. Halfway, you reach the municipality of Rühn. Here you should take a short break to visit the Cistercian monastery, which dates back to the year 1232. The monastery, inhabited by nuns from prominent noble families, has an eventful history and is worth exploring. After the excursion into Mecklenburg's history, it is only another 4 km cycling until you arrive again at your starting point in Bützow.
