Renchen - Hanauer bike route

You start at the Renchen Town Hall, cross the B3 and turn right at the citizens' office/tourist info into Karl-Schremp Street. In front of the fire station, turn right, then immediately left into Herrenstraße and further ahead into Eisenbahnstraße. Keep left and turn into Storchenweg. Continue on the path along the Plauelbach. At the fork before the railway line, turn right under the underpass and on the other side turn left into Schleifweg. After a few meters, cross the wooden bridge on the right over the Rench and go straight ahead on the agricultural road. At the fork, turn left. The path leads you straight over the motorway bridge through fields and meadows into the forest. Follow the forest path, turn right at the second fork, leave the forest, turn onto the right path along the dam at the forest edge, and go straight ahead to the barrier. Here, turn left up the dam, cross the weir (keep right), continue about 200 m along the dam crest, and cross the small bridge. Then turn left and follow the path along the right side of the dam. After about 650 m, keep left and follow the paved road. About 100 m further, turn right towards Kehl/Zierolshofen (signposted). After about 3.5 km through forest and meadows, cross the district road K5374, keep left, and follow the field path to the next district road K5364. Turn right here, cross the road a few meters further shortly before the small wood and follow the field path along the edge of the forest. Always go straight ahead (keep right at the fork) with the World of Living building already in sight. Continue to Linx and reach the B36 (watch out for cross traffic). Turn left onto the federal road and reach the access to the Weber Haus / World of Living area. Here, the cozy park restaurant in the main building awaits your visit. After your break, turn left from the grounds into Erlenstraße, continue straight ahead and after about 600 m turn left into Holerstraße. After 500 m, turn right, after 250 m turn left. Follow the road for about 1.2 km, then keep left at the crossroads and cross the Graben bridge. Soon you will reach the town entrance Diersheim and then turn left into Mühlbachstraße. Via Oststraße (turn left) you reach Hanauerstraße (K5373). Follow this until you take the entrance to Gräberfeldstraße (industrial area) on the left and about 100 m later turn right into Zainweg. At the next crossroads, keep left, pass the fish ponds, and after about 350 m turn right into the main path. Another 500 m further you reach a crossroads and continue straight ahead on Plattenweg. Enter the forest and follow the marked bike path in the beautiful nature reserve along the Rhine floodplains. Further on, keep left and after leaving the forest, turn right onto the road. After a few meters, cross the bridge on the left and continue northwards on the bike path below the dam. This leads you towards the shipyard, where you take the second fork left up the dam. Depending on the season, you can observe a variety of waterfowl here. You follow the dam crest until you reach the Gambsheim sluice, turn left over the barrage and cross the L87 to reach your next destination, the Rheinau / Gambsheim fish ladder. After your visit to this interesting facility, return over the barrage and turn again onto the dam crest (yellow gate). At a suitable spot, descend the dam on the left to the lower bike path, which leads right along the L87. Further ahead, turn left at the underpass and continue to the gravel plant. Turn right in front of its entrance. Follow Rheinstraße to the fork, keep left here and immediately turn right into the farm road. Follow this to Stockfeldstraße, turn left and then right over the bridge. Continue right into Tiefentalstraße, then immediately left into Durbanhofstraße, where you leave Rheinau-Freistett and reach the L87. Cross it and go straight ahead towards Rheinbischofsheim. The red sandstone church is visible from afar. Upon arrival in the town, turn left into Weiherstraße, keep left and follow Kirchstraße to main road (B36). Keep right and turn on the other side into Renchener Straße towards the sports ground. Heading out of town, pass the sports ground, then turn into the wide forest path which you follow straight. A shelter in the middle of the forest offers a good rest stop. After leaving the forest, cross the bridge straight ahead and shortly after turn right into the forest/field path towards Wagshurst. Soon you reach the idyllic Wagshurst fishing lake, circle it and turn right after the ditch into the agricultural road. Enjoy the wonderful view of the Black Forest and Hornisgrindeturm on your ride towards Wagshurst. Enter the town on the left, continue through the alley to the church, which you pass on the right and turn left at the main road. You take Hanauer Straße, turn onto the bike path at the town exit, which later leads over the motorway bridge. Keep left after the sewage treatment plant and finally reach the bypass road. On the opposite side (keep left) continue after the railway underpass to the B3, where you turn right towards Renchen (roundabout) and later, by the evangelical church, turn left into Kappelstraße. You go eastwards, turn at a small bridge after about 1 km into a field path, which leads you about 500 m further to the Ansenbach / Dorfbach bridge and turn left onto the bike path towards Ulm. In town, pass the Ullenburghalle and turn right at the sports ground from Ullenburgstraße into Stiglerstraße, which leads directly to your rustic snack at Gasthaus Stigler. Enjoy your stay in the cozy guest room or, in good weather, in the fragrant beer garden. After your visit to Gasthaus Stigler, start the return journey to Renchen fresh and restored. You go straight up Ulmenstraße at the guesthouse, drive straight ahead at the roundabout towards Erlach and turn right at the cemetery into the picturesque fruit trail, which later takes you via Aurainweg into Renchener Weidenstraße. Follow this past the tennis court, keep right and finally reach your destination, the Renchen Town Hall.
