Before starting the route, you should once again make sure what you are getting into, but in a positive sense. The route requires a certain level of fitness due to uphill and downhill sections, because of the impressive castles, which is a characteristic of the approximately 40 km long route.
On this pleasure route, nature, fun, and sport unite. With the popular castles and castle ruins in the area, you take away legendary impressions. Once the Drachenfels has captivated you, there will be no turning back. Stunning views characterize the extensive castle ruins, making a climb up the platforms well worth it. In addition, you leap back into a time of heroic legends and myths to learn more about the life and knights of that time. Furthermore, romantic places beckon to take breaks with a picnic character or just to enjoy a cooling off, for example at the Seehofweiher near Erlenbach. If you do not plan to bring your own provisions, there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments.
The cycling round tour takes place on well-developed and signposted cycle paths overall. Nevertheless, it is recommended to take your time.
Uffbasse! – Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
Always behave foresightedly, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
Pay attention to nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths.
Bring a trash bag for the journey and take your rubbish back home.
Always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
Observe all trail closures for your own safety, even on weekends.
Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for rescue routes and agricultural machinery.
Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Safety information
Our cycling routes often run along paths where we are guests on bikes and share with others. Therefore, we ask for always considerate and friendly behavior. Winemakers, farmers, and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work (also on weekends) and always have priority. Due to work or weather conditions, these paths may sometimes be more soiled. Special caution is also advised when riding on the (usually quiet and less trafficked) roads in and around the Palatinate towns.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
It is advisable in advance to familiarize yourself with the signs and markings of the cycling route. Accordingly, you mostly follow the sign "Raubritter-Tour" (castle keep on a grey background) as well as the green sign "Klingbach Cycling Route".
The route starts at the train station in Bruchweiler-Bärenbach. You leave the town on the Raubritter cycle path towards Busenberg, where you can make the first stop at the Drachenfels hut or take a detour to the Drachenfels castle ruins. Then you go back, passing the Weißensteinerhof towards Erlenbach. Once you have passed through the village, you will reach the only inhabited castle in the Palatinate, the Berwartstein.
After possibly visiting the castle, continue to the Seehofweiher, which invites you to swim. Passing Erlenbach-Lauterschwan, you enter a second cycle path via the Klingbach Cycling Route. You cycle north past Vorderweidenthal to the Lindelbrunn castle ruin and the nearby Cramerhaus, where you can have a snack. Then you briefly leave the cycling route and ride on a farm road and country road to Oberschlettenbach. Back on the Klingbach Cycling Route, your next destination is Busenberg. The landscape is characterized by forest and meadows, with the Bühlhof offering the next opportunity to stop for refreshments.
After you have been in Busenberg, you ride to the Bärenbrunnermühle, then possibly a little further to the Bärenbrunnerhof. If not, you must immediately take the farm road to Erfweiler. Now, unfortunately, you must go back again, i.e., you have to follow the cycle path parallel to the B427 towards Dahn-Reichenbach. Then you follow the German-French Pamina Cycle Route Lautertal to the destination, the train station Bruchweiler-Bärenbach.
