Culturally and historically varied circular route that includes three themed cycle paths.

Whether visiting the Hönehaus fort, resting at the historic green spelt drying facilities in Altheim, or riding on the Erftal mill cycle path – this route scores with three themed cycle paths providing information on the respective architectural and historical backgrounds.

Starting from Walldürn, the route follows the German Limes cycle path to the Hönehaus fort on the Rehberg above Rinschheim. Here, the foundations of a small fort and three watchtowers are still preserved as witnesses of the former Roman Empire and can be explored on foot.

Before Götzingen, the cycle path passes the "Fit am See" leisure facility. There are various fitness equipment and a table tennis table – but most likely, the Kneipp basin will be very popular with cyclists. Besides the exercise offerings, you can also just comfortably picnic and relax by the lake, especially since cyclists are faced with two short but steep climbs right away.

After leaving the Limes cycle path in Götzingen, the ascent begins at the gravel plant over the mentioned hills. The route first goes towards Sindolsheim to lead along the green spelt cycle path in the Kirnau valley to the historic green spelt drying facilities on Darrenstraße. The drying facilities have been lovingly restored, and a nice green area with a resting place has also been created. One of the drying facilities houses a museum, and the buildings can be visited as part of a guided tour, which can also be arranged with a small tasting of green spelt specialties upon agreement.

On the way to Erfeld, the gently ascending country road must be overcome before the ride gently rolls down into the picturesque Erftal valley. Along numerous former mill sites, the Erftal mill cycle path leads to Hardheim.

In Hardheim, the route passes the "Steinerner Turm" (Stone Tower), which marks the oldest settled area in the town, and continues to the former mill at the Eirich company. Before that, it is advisable at the intersection of cycle paths in the Ried to take a detour to the right towards the cemetery, pass it, and include another special structure in the tour program: the scale model (1:4.7) of an Ariane 5 carrier rocket. It was erected below the Hockeberg in honor of the space pioneer Walter Hohmann (born 1880 / died 1945), who was born in Hardheim.
Back on the cycle path, the route follows the Odenwald Madonnas Way and leads through the Mühltal valley to Höpfingen. In the Mantelgraben, there is one more climb before the pilgrimage basilica of Walldürn comes into view.

At the end of the circular ride, our route suggestion goes to the Roman bath. Its remains are considered an archaeological monument and have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005 as a section of the Upper German-Rhaetian Limes. The remarkable site lies a little off the cycle paths but can be reached shortly via the country road and the asphalted field path.
