Touristikgemeinschaft Odenwald
Vor den Toren Walldürns verläuft der Obergermanisch-Rätische Limes, seit 2005 UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Im Süden von Walldürn befand sich parallel zum sog. "Limesknick" wenige Meter hinter dem LImeswall das Kastell Alteburg (heute archälogisches Reservat) mit Kastell-Vicus (Zivilsiedlung) und einem Römerbad im Reihentypus (Hypokaustum). Die Grundmauern des Römerbades sind seit den Ausgrabungen in den 1970er Jahren gefasst (jüngere Bauphase) und vermitteln einen guten Eindruck vom Aufbau des Badgebäudes. Infoschilder mit zahlreichen Abbildungen informieren zum Aufbau des Kastells und des Badgebäudes. Zudem steht die Kopie des Weihesteins des Römerbades vor Ort.
Führungen zu Kastell, Römerbad und der Badekultur der Römer sind jederzeit im Geopark Infozentrum Walldürn unter 06282-67108 oder 67105 buchbar.
