Cycle along the Melusinen route through well-known wine villages and enjoy wonderful views from Staufenberg Castle in Durbach over Ortenau all the way to the Vosges in France.
Author’s recommendation
The beautiful mermaid Melusine was betrayed in her love by a Staufenberg knight. She avenged herself when the knight celebrated his wedding with a noblewoman at Staufenberg Castle. The ceiling above the table opened and a swan-white female foot appeared. The knight broke into wailing and died after three days.
