The Kyrkösjärvi route offers an excellent cycling trip on good sandy roads both through the forest and along the embankment by the lake. Kyrkösjärvi is only four kilometers from the center of Seinäjoki.
The Kyrkösjärvi route passes through beautiful scenery in Seinäjoki circling Kyrkösjärvi. Along the route, there are also lean-tos where you can stop to eat snacks. The pictures show the Järvilaavu lean-to.
The route naturally starts next to the Kyrkösjärvi swimming beach, where there is also a map of the area. Here you can also find a kiosk and a frisbee golf course in the summer, the Luontotalo Käpälikkö nature center, and a canoeing center. There are signs along the route. The route travels on fine forest roads and along the embankment by the lake.

Tips and suggestions
Note! The paper map of the route unfortunately gives incorrect route information at the southern end of the lake. The valid route goes farther south, and there is sign guidance on site. The route goes to Rengonkylä and then starts returning from there.
Roadbook
The shore of Kyrkösjärvi is located at the end of Koskelantie, near Seinäjoki hospital. This is a good starting point. The route can be cycled in either direction, but we start counterclockwise, meaning we start riding on Kyrkösvuorentie. Part of the route is wide sandy road, charming forest path, and sandy road along the embankment by the lake. Along the way, there is an accessible Järvilaavu lean-to. The road continues toward the tip of the lake. The name of the road changes at some point to Kyrkösjärventie. At the south tip is the Kyrkösjärvi kota (hut). Continue along Kyrkösjärventie by the canal to Rengonkylä, where you turn back towards Seinäjoki first on Kuismintie, then about 600 meters later turn onto parallel Hamarintie. Continue this two kilometers, after which you turn back onto the embankment circling Kyrkösjärvi through a small forest along a path. Although it is a path, it can be cycled. Continue along the embankment straight toward Kyrkösjärvi swimming beach and Käpälikkö.
