The Kleinbahn bike loop leads along a former Kleinbahn track through the Soonwald Nahe Nature Park and past steep rocks in the Ellerbach and Gräfenbach valleys.
Once, Bockenau, which lies protected and surrounded by steep rocks in the Ellerbach and Gräfenbach valleys, was connected by a Kleinbahn. From 1896 to 1935, steam trains ran through the town and provided a connection to Bad Kreuznach, on a narrow gauge track for cost reasons. Today, the former narrow gauge railway is part of a bike path through the Soonwald Nahe Nature Park. It runs partly on the former tracks of the Kleinbahn and crosses the watershed over a ridge between Allenfeld and Argenschwang. The start and end point of the bike loop through the Verbandsgemeinde Rüdesheim / Nahe can be, for example, the Kleinbahn Museum in Bockenau, where a locomotive from 1920 is exhibited. The path is scenic and runs away from the central development routes of the Nahe valley. It is 34 kilometers long and has climbs of 330 meters, rewarded with beautiful views towards the Soonwald.
