The route starts at the main square by the Old Town Hall with the Cisterscapes exhibition (free) in the historic core of Zwettl. We cycle up to the provost on a side road. The path continues through the cadastral community of Moidrams, a suburb that grew together with the city of Zwettl in the last century. Past Moidramslehen, it goes out of the city to the Syrafeld mill in the Zwettl valley. We cycle on natural and paved field paths through the hilly cultural landscape to Jahrings. With a slight incline, the side road leads us past the Kranawitberg hill to Merzenstein. Then it continues south towards Galgenberg, the highest point of this bike route.
In Rottenbach, we turn sharply left, cycle over the gentle hills to Uttissenbach to the historic mill, shortly afterwards entering the Kamp valley. From now on, we follow the meanders of the river in the dense forest and cycle relaxed downstream back to the town of Zwettl.
This route was developed as part of project "ATCZ00007 CISTERSCAPES VB-Zw-ZnS" and funded by the Interreg Austria-Czech Republic program.
