Hopfensee circular route

The bike route starts at the Tourist Information Schwangau. From there, you ride through the middle village towards Füssen. Along the Royal Crystal Thermal Baths, enjoy magnificent views of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. Through wide meadows and fields, you reach the Lech dam stage, where there is a beautiful view over the river. You need to briefly push your bike over the dam because cycling is not allowed there.

Then continue through Füssen Weidach towards the boat harbor. Shortly before, turn left and follow the bike path over Eschach to Hopfensee. Along the way, you pass the Eschacher pond. On the shore of Hopfensee, several places to eat and bathing spots invite you to take a break – perfect to let your gaze wander over the lake and the Allgäu Alps. Ride along the shore further, pass Wiesbauer, and reach the shelter hut. There, turn towards Füssen and ride along the forest edge to Füssen-West.

From here, the path leads along the railway line directly to Füssen's old town – definitely worth a visit. Then follow the bike path along the B17 towards Schwangau, cross the Lech bridge, and ride through Alterschrofen. Past Schloss Bullachberg, the path returns to Schwangau. With a final view of Neuschwanstein Castle, you reach your starting point again.
