In the footsteps of the former local railway "Gredl" over the European Watershed.
The local railway "Gredl", first put into operation in 1887, served as a passenger and freight transport means. Steam locomotives operated the trains from Roth to Greding. Until the 1970s, it still ran along the entire route. Gradually, railway operations were discontinued. With great attention to detail, historic railway signals have been installed to remember the former railway line between Roth and Greding.
Today, the "Gredl" only runs with modern trains from Roth to Hilpoltstein. On the remaining route, the approximately 30 km long Gredl cycle path has been established.
