Tourismuszentrale Stralsund
This route takes you along and over the Strelasund. From asphalt to gravel, here you get a bit of everything. On this route, you even get on the water yourself. How else would you get to the island of Rügen by bike? The return goes past the mighty Rügen Bridge. Well, it is certainly the maritime highlight of the routes we tested, but it also demands quite a bit from the cyclist. Although almost the entire route runs on sections of long-distance cycling paths, the signage on this route is not optimal everywhere, so you should definitely have a cycling map or a navigation device with you. A detour to the town of Altefähr, located opposite Stralsund, is highly recommended. In addition to an idyllic town center with a church, there is a marina where there is usually busy activity and also a ferry that departs for Stralsund, allowing you to return to Stralsund alternatively to the Rügendamm. The Stahlbrode ferry conveniently and inexpensively transports cyclists and bikes from April to October.
