From St. Johann to Goldegg with the castle and a moor bathing lake
From St. Johann, follow the Tauern Cycle Path to Schwarzach. From here, go over the so-called "Putzengraben" past Schloss Schernberg to Goldegg, where the castle lies picturesquely by the moor lake.
The castle, built as a fortified castle in the 14th century, houses not only the local history museum but also the well-known painting academy and the cultural association, which provides a varied program throughout the year. In the knights' hall, which with its elaborate Renaissance paneling is counted among Salzburg's most valuable treasures, weddings are also performed.
After an enjoyable bike ride, the healthy Goldegg moor lake offers a refreshing cool-down with a jumping tower, children's pool, well-kept sunbathing lawn, and a refreshment buffet.
