Baroque splendor amidst meadows and fields.
Nature and Baroque simply belong to Upper Swabia; on this route, especially the churches along the way invite you to take short reflective breaks.
Starting at the Meßkircher Gate, head over Granheimer Street to the first hill. Once at the top, a short detour to the Missionsberg tower can be made, from where you have a magnificent view of the Danube valley and the Bussen. Continue to Granheim. The path leads through the Ostrach valley past Rosna to Einhart. Shortly before Jettkofen, there is a bathing lake with the possibility to cool down on hot days. Afterwards, the route ascends again. The second and last climb is conquered in Tafertsweiler. Now it goes almost entirely flat past Bachhaupten to Friedberg. A stopover can be made here at the baroque parish and pilgrimage church. Via Günzkofen to Hohentengen, then via Bremen back to the old town of Mengen. A visit to the Martin church or a stop at one of the numerous gastronomic establishments is recommended here. Meanwhile, the bikes can be parked in the lockable bike boxes at Kreuzplatz.
