Ferienregion Nördlicher Bodensee Tourist-Information Pfullendorf
The route mainly leads along bike paths through the countryside. The route is suitable for both leisure cyclists and active sportspeople; above-average fitness is not required. However, there are two relatively steep sections included.
Off to the Three-Lakes Area
The cycling route P3 starts at the market square and is about 31 km long. The difficulty level is described as medium, which is partly due to an elevation gain of 80 meters. From the Eichberg, the route goes towards Brunnhausen. From there, Burgweiler is targeted with its sights such as the border stone museum, the crypt from the 13th century, and the Riedlehrpfad (reed nature trail).
Wind turbines and three lakes
Continuing on the path Judentenberg, there are three massive wind turbines to admire before reaching the eagerly awaited three lakes. The first lake on the route is the Ruschweiler Lake, shortly followed by the smaller Volzer Lake. These two lakes are a prelude to the third body of water: Lake Illmensee. There are great opportunities here to refresh yourself, for example, at the lakeside outdoor pool. The recreational spot also offers a lot in terms of culinary delights. Undoubtedly, the ambiance at Lake Illmensee is too tempting not to stop here. The route finally leads back to Pfullendorf via Denkingen.
Pleasant route
The route mostly runs along asphalt bike paths through the landscape, making for a very comfortable ride suitable for both leisure cyclists and active sports enthusiasts alike. Two relatively steep sections may cause short exertion, but overall the route is manageable in terms of fitness. Anyone who enjoys relaxing by small or larger lakes or just cycling past them will definitely be in the right place here.
