    First on the Berlin Leipzig bike path, later also on little traveled roads and unpaved paths, the route runs mostly hilly for about 70 km through the Dübener Heide Nature Park. Along the way are Bad Schmiedeberg with notable spa facilities, Kneipp pools, and cycling memorial as well as the Mulde town Bad Düben with nature park center, castle, and mills.

    Roadbook

    From Wittenberg main station 10 minutes by train to Bergwitz. From the station through the underpass towards the town. Turn right into Waldstraße and follow the signage for the Berlin-Leipzig bike path to Bad Düben. Along the lake to the left towards Kemberg. Cross the B100. In Kemberg at the Edeka market turn right towards Bad Schmiedeberg. At Heidehotel Lubast turn right onto B2 and immediately left towards Ateritz. Continue following the bike path markings and pass Sackwitzer Mühle (hotel and restaurant) to Reinharz. (-->Water castle). At the edge of town, the bike path turns right. Behind Großwig, at the crossroads, go straight, leaving the Berlin-Leipzig bike path that turns right, and head into the center of Bad Schmiedeberg. Follow the right side of the -->Kurhaus (Art Nouveau) Kurpromenade and pass the spa park (-->Cycling memorial, Kneipp facilities) to the main street. Turn left there towards Söllichau (again signs for the Berlin-Leipzig bike path). At the town exit, the bike path branches right. Follow it past the seven-armed column to -->Castle Bad Düben. (-->Ship mill, Nature Park Centre)

    Return via Bitterfelder Straße, turn right into Friedhofstraße. Then left onto Gustav-Adolf-Straße, past the spa park, follow to the federal road. (-->Post mill) Turn right there and immediately left into Wittenberger Straße. Follow this past the swimming pool again to the federal road and cross it once more. Follow the path opposite and pass Weichers Mühle (-->Wood sculpture collection) to the district road. Turn left and at Tornau town entrance immediately right again. Straight ahead through the Hammerbach valley to the road. Follow this left, cross the federal road, and after about 2 km turn right onto a hiking trail (marked with a green cross). Follow this to the Bauerhaus rest area, then left towards Ochsenkopf. At Ochsenkopf (restaurant) turn left across the parking lot and follow the right path (waymarks green diamond and red dot). After about 2.5 km turn left towards Uthausen (asphalt path, then side street). Go through the village, cross federal road B100 and follow the path opposite (red dot). At the garden complex "Grauer Stein" keep right and turn left behind into Schleesener Weg. Later cross a railway underpass and turn right following European bike route R1 to Bergwitz station. (Swimming opportunity on the way).
