Cambomare – along the Rottach – Mariaberger Street – Ponds – Ermengerst – Wiggensbach – Blenden – Blender – Wegscheidel – Eschach – Steckenried – Schwarzerd – Einöde – Buchenberg – Riefen – Ahegg – Cambomare
You start your tour at the Cambomare leisure pool on Aybühlweg. You head to the right, northbound, cycle straight briefly, and then downhill to the Rottach. Before the bridge, you turn right onto a gravel path that takes you along the Rottach to a small bridge. You immediately cross the Rottach and ride, first keeping left and then right, up to Mariaberger Street. Passing the Café Sonnenhang, you follow the slightly ascending Mariaberger Street until you turn right at the Kalbsangstobel hiking parking lot onto a narrower paved path.
Now comes a short, steep climb to Feigen, a solitary farm, up to a fork with a wayside shrine. You continue straight ahead, briefly downhill on a gravel path, past a residential house and then left onto a paved street. This leads you past Rabenstein, a massive boulder, to Emengerst. Here you turn right onto a bike path that runs along the main road towards Wiggensbach. You pedal through Unterried and Wendelins and at the next crossroads turn left.
Tip: In Wiggensbach, a detour to the marketplace with the Ratschkathl fountain and gastronomy is worthwhile. About 70 m after the Wiggensbach town sign, this tour takes you left towards Blender. At a wayside shrine, keep left and follow the Blender Höhenweg. Now the road steadily climbs. You pass through Blenden and Eschachberg, where you turn right to tackle the 100 meters of elevation to the Blender (1072 m) and its TV tower. The path is short and very steep. The effort is worth it because from up there you have a great view over the Allgäu foothills with the Allgäu Alps in the background.
You ride back the same way to Eschachberg and there turn right onto the paved road leading down to Wegscheidel. There you cross the main road and follow the sign Pflaumenmühle/Hintereinöde. The route passes through peaceful countryside, gently ascending to Eschach. At the Eschach church, you pass on the right to the main road in front. You cross it and follow the white-green bike path signs towards Steckenried/Schwarzerd. The path partly on gravel descends to Schwarzerd. You cross the main road and, turning left, follow the bike signs towards Buchenberg. On a winding side road, you first go uphill to Einöde, where you are rewarded with a magnificent mountain view. Then the route descends again to the main road and continues to Buchenberg. You remain briefly on this road and then turn right into Römerstrasse after a commercial building.
Attention: It goes steeply downhill, then sharp right onto the main road, and immediately left where you follow the sign Reitanlage/Gut Buchenhof. Attention: The small road leads steeply downhill again. You pass by some farms before reaching the residential area of Ahegg on a short gravel forest path. There you turn right into Burgusring and shortly afterward follow the bike path towards Kempten, which starts on the right-hand side at a bridge. At the end of the gravel bike path, turn left and cycle to Rottachmühle. There you turn left again and immediately right onto Pulvermühlweg, which runs below Kempten's local mountain Mariaberg. You stay on this path until you turn left onto Leutkircher Street. You cycle over a small crest and at the following junction turn left again into Aybühlweg, which takes you back to the Cambomare leisure pool, the starting point of your tour.
