Cycle path Rothsee - Altmühlsee

Rothsee - Eckersmühlen - Roth - Rothaurach - Asbach - Abenberg - Dürrenmungenau - Wassermungenau - Untereschenbach - Mitteleschenbach - Haundorf - Muhr a.See - Altmühlsee

The bike route from Rothsee to Brombachsee starts at the Heuberg lake center, directly at the southern end of Rothsee. After a few meters, the Main-Danube Canal is crossed at the Ecksersmühlen lock. From the visitor platform, you can observe the impressive locking process, during which ships overcome a height difference of almost 25 meters. The next section of the route leads via Roth to Abenberg. Along the way, numerous museums attest to the rich industrial and craft history of the region. Historic Eisenhammer Eckersmühlen, Roth Factory Museum, Ratibor Castle Museum in Roth, and the bobbin lace museum at Abenberg Castle attract visitors with fascinating exhibitions. West of Abenberg, the route leads over meadows and fields, through typically Franconian villages and from Wassermungenau follows a section along the wonderfully idyllic valley of the Franconian Rezat before heading south near Untereschenbach to Mitteleschenbach. Via Haundorf, it then goes to Muhr am See, which lies directly on the Altmühlsee and thus at the end of the tour.
