Im 19. Jhd prägte die „leonische Industrie“ die Stadt Roth. Alles über die damalige Arbeit erzählt das Fabrikmuseum Roth. Laufende Maschinen lassen die frühere Arbeitswelt aufleben

Tressen und Litzen für das Militär, feine Gewebe und Stoffe für Ornate und teure Gewänder oder glänzender Christbaumschmuck – das alles sind „leonische Waren“. Sie wurden aus feinen Gold-, Silber- oder vergoldeten und versilberten Kupferdrähten gefertigt und auch in ferne Länder exportiert. Im Fabrikmuseum Roth kann der Besucher den Weg des grob gezogenen Drahtes durch Feinzug und Plätterei, die Herstellung und das Vergolden der Gespinste sowie die Weiterverarbeitung auf Webstühlen und anderen Maschinen bis hin zur Verpackung der fertigen Ware verfolgen. Auch der Arbeitsalltag ist im Museum lebendig nachgezeichnet. Die meisten Maschinen und Vorrichtungen wie etwa der durch Lochkarten gesteuerte Jacquard-Webstuhl werden in voller Funktion gezeigt.

Ab 14.30 Uhr ist Einlass. Ab 15.00 Uhr beginnt eine umfassende Führung vor laufenden Maschinen (im Eintrittspreis inbegriffen). Ende ist um 16.30 Uhr.

Öffnet für Gruppen ab 10 Personen auch außerhalb der sonntäglichen Öffnungszeiten, nach Voranmeldung.
