Church Route - Forest Round
Evangelischer Kirchenbezirk Villingen
Challenging circular route from St. Georgen via Triberg, Schonach, Schönwald, Furtwangen, Vöhrenbach, and Brigach – information at the churches
The route begins with a short climb to Lorenzkirche. From there, it goes over the Sommerauer Höhe and to Nußbach. We cycle on the bike path parallel to the federal road to Triberg. Here, there are numerous places to stop for food and drink; sights worth seeing besides the church are the Triberg Waterfalls and the Clock Museum.
On the way to Schonach, we pass the "world's largest cuckoo clock." With beautiful views into the Weißenbachtal, we continue past the Reinertonishof (https://www.reinertonishof.de/) to Schönwald.
Those who want to include another climb to the church in Schönwald can go past the Rößle ski lift up to Schönwald, the highest point of our route. After that, it's a relaxed descent through the Weißenbachtal along the Katzensteig to Furtwangen. The Bregtal bike path leads us through the Bregtal. The Breghäusle invites you to rest once more before we return over the Kesselberg to the starting point at St. Georgen station.
