Borderline route

The starting point is Neubrück Altdorf. Southwards you go over a wooden footbridge through Barons Busch to Groß Schwülper. Alternatively, a demanding route can be ridden along the Oker. Straight through the village, at the village exit on the left-side cycle path over the Oker. At the next intersection, turn right on an asphalted farm road through the Sandkrug settlement, where we encounter the old border of the Duchy of Brunswick and the Kingdom of Hanover (today Peine district / Gifhorn district). At the end of the settlement, turn left onto the border path to the farm road junction, then right onto the asphalted road and then continue on the field path branching off to the left until reaching the B214. We cross this and continue straight past the gravel pit and the Hungerkampsee. This is used by the Braunschweig fishing club. At the crossroad, we turn left into the Harvesse village center (a peaceful resting place) and continue towards Wendeburg, crossing the floodplain and turning right before the motorway into the asphalted farm road. Now continue left, then right past the renatured gravel pit over the Steinklint, sharply left at the bottom past the sand-lime brick factory. On the left-side cycle path you reach Rüper with a dining option "Zum Jägerheim". On the cycle path to Wense (left of the Rüperberg; hill removed for motorway construction), past the PflanzenEck with the memorial stone opposite through the village. Alternatively via "Am Osterberg" past the concrete plant or in dry weather on the farm road, a southwestern bypass leads through the beautiful green landscape. Due to the closure before Wense, the route goes via Wipshausen to Didderse up to the Didderse/Neubrück border path. From there it goes left to "Didderserstraße" and right on the cycle path to the junction, where we turn left towards Altdorf Neubrück. When crossing the Oker bridge, you can see northwards at low water level the remains of a four-wheel water mill that operated about 500 years ago. We continue straight over the "dam" back to the starting point.
