There are plenty of places to swim and have a picnic along the lakes and rivers.Roadbook
The route starts at the Lesce-Bled train station. From there, take the bike path to Bled. You’ll find a great spot to stop for a break and go for a swim at the rowing club on the north shore of Lake Bled. From there, the climb begins, stretching for about 8 km with gradients of up to 16%. The road winds through simple villages and shady forests, passing a high moor. The descent from the highest point is just as steep, winding through the forest, which soon gives way to a beautiful, secluded, and very well-maintained cultural landscape. In Stara Fužina, you’ll pass inns, many beautiful houses offering lodging, a supermarket, and an information center with a museum.
After a total of 44 km, you’ll reach the idyllic Wocheiner Lake, framed by high mountains. This is where the road ends. Find a spot to swim or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
On the way back, we’ll take the beautiful bike path, which largely runs along the turquoise, unspoiled Sava Bohinjka River away from traffic. It’s a very leisurely ride back to Bled, where you’re best off enjoying the sunset and then pedaling the last 4 km back to the train station in Lesce.
