The "Maroi Leitn" or "Lange Leitn" as the locals call it, is a very long, southeast-facing descent from the Maroikopf into the Verwall. Ideally, this descent is skied before the snow receives the first strong sun rays. Due to the exposure, the snow there quickly gets a "sting" and is then anything but pleasant.
The Maroi Leitn is not particularly demanding, but depending on the route choice, it always has steeper sections. Good skiing technique is required, especially because the descent is very long and afterwards a good stretch must be pushed out of the Verwall. Under good conditions, the Lange Leitn definitely counts among the best descents in the entire Arlberg region.

Caution is required on the first steep slope. Ski alone and choose the meeting point well! On the last slope before the valley floor, wet snow should be watched for in spring. This run should no longer be skied in the afternoon.Tips and suggestions
Roadbook
From the top station of the Albonagratbahn, you either skin up or hike to the Maroikopf (approx. 20min). The track is actually always well worn and clearly visible. The ascent track can be found here.
Directly from the summit, you can either descend south into the first bowl via an extremely steep face or veer slightly to the east and enter via the less steep shoulder. The main part is very wide and can be skied over a broad area. You can hardly go wrong here, but you should always aim slightly to the orographic left, as the slopes at the end become very steep directly along the fall line.
The last slope area before reaching the valley bowl is then again somewhat steeper. Especially in spring, attention should be paid to wet snow avalanches.
The way out of the Verwall is somewhat arduous. There are relatively long skinning sections to overcome here before you reach the descending forest road that finally leads to Gasthaus Verwall. The bus runs every 20 minutes. The last bus is at 4:20 pm. It is essential to catch this one!
