Safety information
High alpine tour! Steep, avalanche-prone slopes!Roadbook
Ascent with the Grand Montets cable car to Grand Montets Top. From there descent, the first meters on the piste. After about 50-100 vertical meters, leave the piste to the right and descend to the right of the striking rocks to the Argentiere glacier (caution: crevasses!). Cross the nearly flat glacier to the opposite side (at about 2350-2400m altitude). Once there (to the left of usually striking icefalls), put on skins and ascend (eastwards) to about 2800m, then gently ascending cross northwards to the start of a striking, steep gully. Then ascend about 200 vertical meters through the gully. Crampons recommended, possibly rope. Up to 45° steep, often hard frozen. Reached about 3050m, the descent begins!
Keep left descending northwest. The route continues here towards the Le Tour ski area. Pass the striking rock at about 2700m on the left, then descend towards Le Tour following the large main gully. It is advisable to inspect the terrain from Le Tour the day before; depending on snow conditions, it is also possible to descend somewhat left in the rocky terrain (very "fun" with sufficient snow).
