A beautiful route over glaciers and through the rocks, around the Gross Venediger. With beautiful pass crossings and some peaks.
The Venediger group belongs to one of the most glacier-covered areas in Austria and, together with the Glockner area, forms the heart of the Hohe Tauern. The route runs over the vast glaciers of the mountain group surrounding the main peak, the Großvenediger (3667 m). You will pass a number of classic pass crossings and, despite all the snow and ice, sometimes have to scramble over the rocks. When conditions permit, there is room in the program to climb some mountains. However, we start with a practice day walking on ice and other terrain types before heading onto the glacier. A route for those who enjoy walking in the snow amidst the wild, glacier-covered mountain nature.
Note: This route has been offered in the past by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always responsible for checking the current route conditions. Get information from the local tourist office or the experts in the relevant region to go out safely and well-prepared.
