Similaun (3,603m) - from Similaun hut
The route can of course be combined with all ascents and descents in the area.
Depending on the snow cover, the summit ridge is easy or more demanding.
If in doubt, a rope should be used; securing over Köpfl and Zacken is possible.
A really great route with a wonderful panoramic summit as a reward!

Possibly use a rope for the summit ridge.Roadbook
We start at the hut and follow the marked path towards the glacier tongue.
We had a light snow cover in the lower part and were able to ascend comfortably to the middle of the glacier even without crampons.
(Please decide and weigh this up according to the conditions yourself!)
Shortly before the first steep slope, the rope is put on.
Now it goes up over the glacier to the summit ridge.
We encountered some hidden crevasses, so be careful here!
Now ascend over the summit ridge to the summit.
As we had a substantial snow cover, there was a tricky section which we eased with a rope on the descent.
Descent as ascent.
