Fantastic crossing in an incredible environment.

The crossing starts from the Quintino Sella al Felik refuge heading from west to east. This direction is described as more beautiful and better.

The crossing from west to east is not particularly difficult (AD-) but should not be underestimated due to the length and changing conditions. The route finding is not difficult either, but full concentration is always required on the narrow snow ridge that is often windblown.

    Author’s recommendation

From west to east is the logical direction!

    Safety information

A helmet is useful for the ascent to the western Liskamm summit.

    Tips and suggestions

The conditions are crucial for the route. In bad conditions, it can take much longer!

    Roadbook

The route starts at the Quintino Sella hut around 5:00. First, the ascent to Felikhorn must be managed. After about 1:30 (500 m elevation gain), the approach is completed. Now head towards the western Liskamm summit, initially lightly to the ice slope. This is either entirely on ice or in the last third via the rock rib to the summit ridge.  Then simply over the ridge to the western summit (4479 m).  2 hours, 400 m. From the western summit, follow the narrow ridge to the eastern summit (4527 m). Part of the ridge is rocky and requires climbing down a section (3-). A fixed rope helps to overcome the 3 m. The snow ridge is not difficult but requires full concentration due to the narrow course.  1 1/2 hours, 110 m.

From the eastern summit, follow the very narrow ridge further to the Lisjoch. At times it goes steeply downhill. From here it gets busier and you simply follow the tracks to Cap. Gnifetti or Ref. di Montova in a southern direction.   2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours, 900 - 1100 m descent.
