A beautiful multi-day glacier route around the Grossglockner with strong challenging days. From two huts, some peaks will be climbed.
From Kals, we cross the varied Dorfertal via the Fischerweg to the Kalser Tauern (2518 m) and the Rudolfshütte (2315 m).
After a long transfer via the Kapruner Törl (2639 m) and the Mooserboden reservoir, we walk to the Heinrich Schwaiger House (2802 m), from where we ascend the Wiesbachhorn (3564 m) the next day.
On the fourth day, we move to the Oberwalderhütte (2972 m), above the Oberster Pasterzenboden. The next day, we trudge through the snow over the Hohe Riffl (3338 m) and the Johannisberg (3460 m). Day 5 goes via a solid, not too long climb over the Pasterze and along the eastern walls of the Großglockner and past the Erzherzog Johann hut to the Stüdl hut. Under the Luisengrat and between Teischnitz and Ködnitz glaciers. We end the route on the seventh day in Kals.
Note: This route was previously offered by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always personally responsible for checking the current route conditions. Ask at the local tourist office or consult experts from the region, so you go safely and well prepared.

Further by post bus to Kals am Großglockner
Directions
By car from Kufstein via Kitzbühel and Mittersill through the Felber-Tauern tunnel to Lienz. An alternative route goes via Salzburg and Spittal. A bit longer but mostly motorway.
Via Lienz you can drive to Kals am Großglockner.
