Heinrich Schwaiger House
Welcome to the Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus (2,802m)
The Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus is a generally accessible, managed hut (category I) of the Munich section, built in 1902, fundamentally extended in 1962/63, last renovated in 2010-12.
The Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus is located on the Salzburg side of the Hohe Tauern National Park and is extremely cozy for a refuge at such a high altitude. Due to its exposed location, the house is not suitable for families with small children. However, if you feel like climbing the Wiesbachhorn, a three and a half thousand meter peak (exactly 3,564m) with comparatively low alpine demands, enjoying an incredible view and then being pampered in the hut according to all the rules of the (culinary) art, then this is the place for you!
The Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus is also a base on the four-day"Tauerntour"- a tour tip for a four-day mountain tour from hut to hut, where you will meet more chamois and ibex than people.
We have compiled the essential information for a visit here. Each rider provides further details about the facilities, how to get there and the approach, as well as tour suggestions.
