Hike, hike, hike! This is perhaps the most beautiful thing you can do in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The ancient natural landscape with its bizarre rock formations and fascinating flora and fauna is one of the most magical hiking areas in Europe. The Elbe Sandstone Mountains are one of the most spectacular hiking areas in Europe.

Around 1200 kilometers of marked hiking trails lead through lush green forests and mystical valleys, over lofty heights and past bizarre rock formations to ever new, breathtaking panoramas. What makes hiking in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains an immersive and unforgettable experience is the sheer natural diversity of the region. The most diverse landscapes come together in the smallest of spaces: rocks, table mountains, plains, gorges and valleys. They all entice you on a journey through impressive remnants of primeval nature.
