Last stage, but it still has its challenges! We follow the course of the Adige for 15km, which, unlike the neighboring SS40, runs relatively straight along the western valley flank towards Trieste; through the historic, extremely scenic village of Schleis. After crossing the somewhat larger town of Glurns, the trail marking leads us, now slightly ascending on forest roads through apple orchards and vineyards. At km 20, we reach the Herz-Jesu Chapel near Prad and now proceed southwest, ascending more and more towards the Stelvio Pass.At the height of Stilfs (km 25), we cross the heavily trafficked Stelvio Pass state road and the Suldenbach and reach the last demanding ascent. The remaining kilometers take us through the Stelvio National Park, and well-shaded, the trail winds on forest roads and a few small paths towards Sulden. Interruptions come only from a few isolated farmsteads and the accompanying small alpine meadows. We leave Sulden and the Messner Museum to the right, run in a northern arc around the town, and then reach our final destination. Report from the run in the route description!
