Short round through the KultURwald near Eichstätt
A varied hike through the Auwäldchen near Eichstätt, where beech forest, cultural history, and quiet nature create a special experience.
The Auwäldchen on the outskirts of Eichstätt is a popular local recreation area with old trees, narrow paths, and shady ravines. The circular route runs on easily walkable paths and offers insights into the cultural history of the forest. At several stations, you can learn more about forestry, the hunting tradition of the Princes of Leuchtenberg, and the Baroque design attempts, when paths, steps, and small garden areas were created here.
Between the information boards, there is plenty of space to simply enjoy the forest quietly. Especially on warm days, the path is pleasantly cool and offers brief views of the Altmühl valley. Complementary play and discovery stations make the round suitable also for families. The focus at the end is less on sporty hiking but rather a peaceful walk with interesting background information.
