The diverse excursion destination Mandichosee has a lot to offer: hiking, swimming, water sports – all in one place.
This relaxed hike starts at Mering station and leads about 7 kilometers to Mandichosee, a Lech dam level and popular recreational destination.
Once at Mandichosee, families will find a variety of entertainment options right on the water: shallow pebble beaches for swimming, large lawns for sunbathing, an exciting playground with a mud play area, and a beach volleyball court – ideal for romping, splashing, and relaxing. A kiosk provides refreshments, and modern restroom facilities offer additional comfort. A highlight is the watersports center on the east shore: here you can attend windsurfing and stand-up paddling courses or rent equipment during the summer months – also for beginners.
A comfortable hiking and cycling path leads around the lake, offering beautiful views of the water and the floodplain forest.
Author’s recommendation
Especially exciting for children: The large mud play area on the playground by the lake offers plenty of space to play!

From Mering, it quickly goes out of town towards the lake. We circle it, first in the shady Lech forest. We take the bridge over the Lech and look for a nice resting place on the other side of the Mandichosee before returning to the starting point.
