PR1 PNC - Village Route

Starting from the Municipal Museum, go to the Geosite “Miradouro da Casa do Ramalho”, walk through the Municipal Forest, enjoying the magnificent landscapes that take us back to other times. Then, you can discover a true testimony of the mining activity associated with lead extraction from the mid-20th century, at the “Minas do Palão”. Here you find the old buildings near the mining pit. Then, on the way back to the village, heading to Cimo de Vila, while walking the streets, paths, and trails flanked by walls of old gardens full of centuries-old olive trees, you will find some of its most important monuments, including Penamacor Castle-Keep Tower, Old Town Hall, Clock Tower, Pillory, Mercy Church, António Ribeiro Sanches Sephardic Medicine Memory House, São Tiago Church (Main Church), and the Convent of Santo António de Penamacor.
